Transform ordinary instant ramen into a creamy, flavorful dish with this easy peanut butter ramen recipe. Perfect for a quick meal, it combines savory, sweet, and nutty flavors, topped with your favorite garnishes for a customizable dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 packs instant ramen noodles (discard seasoning packets)
  • 3 tbsp peanut butter (creamy or chunky)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil (or vegetable oil)
  • 1 tbsp honey (or maple syrup)
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar (optional, for a tangy kick)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ cup hot water (reserved from cooking noodles)
  • Optional Toppings:
    • Sliced green onions
    • Sesame seeds
    • Crushed peanuts

Instructions

  • Cook the Noodles:
    • Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the ramen noodles according to package instructions.
    • Drain the noodles, reserving ½ cup of the cooking water.
  • Prepare the Sauce:
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together peanut butter, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, rice vinegar (if using), garlic powder, and the reserved hot water.
    • Mix until smooth and creamy.
  • Combine Noodles and Sauce:
    • Add the cooked noodles to the bowl with the sauce. Toss until the noodles are evenly coated.
  • Serve and Garnish:
    • Divide the noodles into bowls. Top with optional garnishes like sliced green onions, sesame seeds, or crushed peanuts.

Notes

  • Adjust Sauce Consistency: If the sauce is too thick, add a little more hot water until it reaches your desired consistency.
  • Make it Spicy: Add sriracha, red pepper flakes, or chili oil for a spicy kick.
  • Alternative Noodles: Substitute rice noodles, soba noodles, or spaghetti if you don’t have ramen on hand.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of water to refresh the sauce.
