Ingredients
For the Stroganoff:
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz (225g) mushrooms, sliced
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 cups (480ml) beef broth
- ½ cup (120g) sour cream
- 2 tbsp butter
- Fresh parsley for garnish
For the Noodles:
- 12 oz (340g) egg noodles (or pasta of choice)
Instructions
1. Cook the Noodles
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions.
- Drain and set aside.
2. Sauté the Vegetables
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion, garlic, and mushrooms.
- Cook until softened and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
3. Brown the Ground Beef
- Add the ground beef to the skillet.
- Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
- Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
4. Make the Sauce
- Sprinkle the flour over the beef and stir to coat evenly.
- Slowly pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring constantly.
- Simmer until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
5. Add the Sour Cream
- Reduce heat to low and stir in the sour cream.
- Mix until smooth and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
6. Combine and Serve
- Toss the cooked noodles with the sauce until well coated.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
